The title of Thalapathy Vijay’s 66th film is “Varisu”, set to have its theatrical release on Pongal 2023. It is directed by Vamshi Paidipally, who has previously worked in Telugu cinema, and the music is composed by S Thaman. Sri Venkateswara Creations is producing the film with Dil Raju and Sirish. Vijay and Rashmika Mandanna play the leading roles in the film. Mahesh Babu will reportedly appear in a cameo role.

The film will be released in theaters in January 2023, on the occasion of Pongal. Telugu and Hindi dubbed versions are also in the works.
