The Little Mermaid is a forthcoming Hollywood fantasy film starring Halle Bailey in the lead role of Ariel. Rob Marshall directed the film, which was written by Magee, Marshall, and John DeLuca. Voice actors include Daveed Diggs, Jacob Tremblay, and Awkwafina, as well as Jonah Hauer-King, Javier Bardem, and Melissa McCarthy. It was produced by Walt Disney Pictures‘ Rob Marshall, John DeLuca, Marc Platt, and Lin-Manuel Miranda. Alan Menken composed the background music. The film will be premiered on Disney Plus Hotstar on May 26, 2023.
