Sally El Hosaini is a Welsh-Egyptian screenwriter, producer, and film director, who is best known for My Brother the Devil (2012). She was born in the Welsh city of Swansea. She finished her studies at Atlantic College, one of the United World universities in Wales. Prior to making films, she taught English literature at a girls’ school in Sanaa, Yemen. El Hosaini trained under the late renegade theatre director John Sichel. Her first short film was “The Fifth Bowl“, which was released in 2008, and Her first feature film “My Brother the Devil” was screened at nearly 40 international film festivals and earned 12 awards including international awards, and 17 nominations.
