Ponniyin Selvan: I, directed by Mani Ratnam is an Indian Tamil-language period drama-action movie that is released in theatres all over the world on September 30, 2022. The story is set in the 10th century and centered around Chola Prince Arulmozhi Varman, who went on to become the renowned Chola emperor Raja Raja Chola. He was South India’s most powerful king at the period, well remembered for restoring Chola’s dominance and securing its superiority in South East Asia and the Indian Ocean. The story follows Vallavaraiyan Vandiyadevan on his thrilling trip, which begins with him. He introduces the majority of the film’s characters. Queen Nandini, the wife of Chola Army Commander Periya Pazhuvettaraiyar, sets out to assassinate Aditya Karikalan and help her husband accede to the throne. While Arulmozhivarman finds various facts concerning the ministers’ and Nandini’s plots, Vandiyadevan is tasked with bringing Arulmozhivarman from Sri Lanka to rescue the throne.
