Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam is an upcoming Indian Malayalam-language film directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery and written by S. Hareesh from a story by Lijo himself, starring Mammootty, Ramya Pandian, and Ashokan, which is produced by Mammootykampany Films PVT Ltd in association with Amen Movie Monastery. The film’s cinematography is handled by Theni Eswar. On November 7, 2021, principal photography began in Palani, Tamil Nadu. Chethan Jayalal, and Poo Ramu play important roles in Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam. The film will hit theaters in 2022 in Tamil and Malayalam.
The screenplay for Lijo’s story, Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam, was written by S Hareesh. Since Jallikattu, the duo has become regular collaborators. Churuli was the duo’s most recent release. Theni Eswar, the cinematographer, is also on the technical team. The editing was handled by Deepu Joseph.
Teaser 1 takes us to a village where everyone appears to sleep at certain times of the day. It’s safe to assume that when the clock strikes a certain time, people in the village, regardless of location or occasion, can’t help but fall asleep. We can see images of people snoring in groups, presumably while attending a social gathering. We even come across a bus parked in the middle of nowhere. And we can see that everyone on the bus, including the driver and passengers, has dozed off right where they were standing or sitting. In that village, not only people but also animals were asleep.
In Teaser 2, Mammootty’s character is seen lip-syncing to Tamil actor Sivaji Ganesan’s popular dialogue from the 1973 film Gauravam.
