Modern Love: Chennai is an upcoming Tamil web series that is one of the three Indian adaptations of Amazon Prime Video’s American romantic comedy anthology series Modern Love, which is developed by John Carney and was based on the weekly column of the same name, published by New York Times. It premiered with 2 seasons comprising 8 episodes each. The series’ official release date is set to be announced soon. Watch all the episodes on Amazon Prime Video.
The series will be produced in Telugu and Hindi, in addition to Tamil. Bharathi Raja, Balaji Sakthivel, Raju Murugan, Krishnakumar Ramakumar, and Akshay Sundher direct this Tamil series. Meanwhile, Modern Love Tokyo, a Japanese adaptation of the Hollywood series, is set to premiere later this year.
As the title of the series suggests, the anthology web series is about 6 different modern love stories. The series is expected to explore unique yet universal stories of human connection and love in its varied forms-romantic, platonic, parental, familial, marital, and self-love. Even though it is written with inspiration from the New York times column yet it is expected to explore the unique Chennai edition.

Thiagarajan Kumararaja’s Tyler Durden banner is producing the series in collaboration with Kino First. He is also a writer, along with Rajumurugan, Reshma Ghatala, and Pratheep Kumar.
