Matilda the Musical is an upcoming musical fantasy comedy-drama directed by Matthew Warchus and written by Dennis Kelly. The lead roles are played by Alisha Weir, Lashana Lynch, Stephen Graham, Andrea Riseborough, and Emma Thompson. Christopher Nightingale created the soundtrack. It’s based on Roald Dahl’s 1988 children’s novel of the same name. The film will be shown at the BFI London Film Festival on 5 October 2022, and will be released in the United Kingdom by Sony Pictures Releasing International on 25 November 2022, and in the United States on 9 December 2022 by Netflix.
