Maamanithan is a Tamil-language drama film starring actors Vijay Sethupathi and Gayathrie, which is written and directed by Seenu Ramasamy. It is bankrolled by Yuvan Shankar Raja’s YSR Productions. Yuvan also co-wrote the soundtrack for the film with his father, Ilaiyaraaja. The film also stars veteran actress K.P.A.C. Lalitha, Guru Somasundaram, Shaji Chen, Jewel Mary, Anikha, Ganja Karuppu, Manasvi Kottachi, and Saravana Sakthi, in addition to the main Cast. M. Sukumar is in charge of cinematography, and A. Sreekar Prasad is in charge of editing. Maamanithan is scheduled for a theatrical release on June 23, 2022. The Maamanithan team has so far released teaser and trailer. While the teaser revealed that actor Vijay Sethupathi plays as Radhakrishnan’s character and actress Gayathrie plays his wife, the trailer reveals that Radhakrishnan lives a peaceful life as an auto driver. However, Radhakrishnan is considering changing careers in order to earn more money and provide a better education for his children. The trailer does not reveal the details of Radhakrishnan’s new profession, but it does show that he gets into trouble while brokering the land.

Yuvan Shankar Raja’s independent music label U1 Records released the film’s first single, Thattiputta, on April 7, 2021, which was sung by Ilaiyaraaja. On May 28, 2021, another single titled Ye Rasa was released, which was sung by Yuvan himself. Pa.Vijay wrote the lyrics for both songs. Lets OTT revealed that the film will be released digitally through ZEE5, which purchased the digital rights, though no official confirmation has been made by the producers.
