Hoichoi, a leading Bengali OTT platform, announced a new slate of exciting new originals as it entered its fifth year. One of those is Karagar, an upcoming Bengali thriller series directed by Syed Ahmed Shawki and it is sure to pique the interest of viewers following the success of his previous show, “Taqdeer.” Chanchal Chowdhury is playing as a lead in this series. Partho, Intekhab Dinar, FS Nayeem, Tasnia Farin and Afzal Hossain are among the cast members. This series with all episodes was premiere on Hoichoi in August 19,2022.

This will be Chanchal Chowdhury’s second project under the direction of Syed Ahmed Shawki. Previously, they collaborated on a web series called ‘Takdir,’ which was released in December 2020. ‘Takdir’ was well received in Bengal. As a result, there is an expectation that Shawki will bring something spectacular this time as well.

Plot

The plot takes place in a cell in a jail that has not been opened in nearly 50 years. Since a prisoner committed suicide in that cell many years ago, the cell has been closed. However, one morning, a prisoner was discovered in the cell, claiming to be a prisoner of that cell and imprisoned for 200 years! The plot starts with an investigation into where the man came from and how he got there.

The other Crew members have yet to be revealed by the filmmakers. However, hundreds of artists will be involved in this series. Niyamtullah Masum wrote the screenplay and story.
