Descendant is an upcoming English-language documentary film that will premiere on Netflix on October 21st. Margaret Brown directed the film, who is known for movies like The Order of Myths, Be Here to Love Me: Townes Van Zandt, and The Great Invisible. Kyle Martin, Essie Chambers, and Margaret Brown produce the film through their companies Higher Ground and Participant, in collaboration with Two One Five Entertainment. Manuel and Justin Zweifach handled cinematography, while Michael Bloch and Geoffrey Richman handled the editing. The film received a U.S. Documentary Special Jury Award and Best Documentary Feature, as well as Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award at the SXSW Film Festival.
