Black Bird, is an upcoming American crime drama web series in the English language that will be released on Apple TV Plus on 8th July 2022. The series is based on the 2010 autobiographical novel “In With The Devil: A Fallen Hero, A Serial Killer, and A Dangerous Bargain for Redemption” by James Keene. The series is developed by Dennis Lehane. The first three episodes are directed by Academy Award nominee Michaël R. Roskam (“Bullhead,” “The Drop”)  and the remaining episodes are directed by Joe Chappelle, and Jim McKay. Makers have planned the series to be limited series as they have announced that season 1 consists of only 6 episodes. Two episodes of the first season will be released on 8th July. Users can stream the episodes on Apple TV Plus.

Story

Jimmy Keene (Taron Egerton), son of a privileged policeman, is sentenced to 10 years in a minimum-security prison. Where he is given the choice of a lifetime to cut a deal with the FBI to enter a maximum-security prison for the criminally insane and befriend suspected serial killer Larry Hall (Paul Walter Hauser), or stay where he is and serve his full sentence with no possibility of parole. Keene agrees with the former one. Keene’s job is to evoke a confession from Hall and find where the bodies of several young girls are buried, before his appeal in the court. Is Hall a serial killer?
